ABOUT

Changing the face of compliance

No longer is the world of compliance and auditing just about suits, ties and briefcases.

Compliance is woven in to the fabric of societal and commercial expectations. For most, it's a burden. For some, a chore. We'd be retired in three years for the amount of company representatives that have fallen foul of the common misconceptions about compliance. It's boring, yes. So let's make it fun. We make your craft our craft.

We will talk about the serious stuff, and about cake. Cake is important. And delicious. The cake analogy simplifies those all important processes. And, we don't do manuals that are thicker than a Mary Berry cookbook.

We embrace the joys of modern technology to bring you a blended approach to compliance.

And we'll always be honest with you. From the perfect soufflé to the soggy bottom, we'll give you the good, the bad and the ugly.

We had a vision for our business. Professional. Simple. Honest. And of course, a dash of fun.

HOW & WHERE WE BAKE

The beauty in what we do is adaptability. We're based in Kent, and have both ISO and health & safety consultants located within Kent and East Sussex - but that doesn't limit our coverage. Wherever you are within the UK, we can provide implementation, auditing and health & safety services.

Want us on site for a full ISO implementation? No problem. Prefer a blended approach with a bit of face to face and a bit of virtual? We can do that too. Our services are structured around the service you need, and we think about the planet too, so we'll always find the best approach for your business.

Some of our services require us to be on site with you - health & safety, fire or environmental visits, for example. We aim to work in a minimally disruptive approach so your team can achieve what they need to for your business, whilst we achieve what we need to for you.

OUR TEAM

Lauren Agar

Director

Lauren’s working experience started in the cleaning industry, and this is where the introduction to management systems and health & safety began.

With experience of internal quality, environmental and safety system management, she made the transition to ISO consultancy. This started a journey of personal development, gaining her ISO 27001:2013 Lead Auditor Qualification in  2020, NEBOSH NGC in 2021 and completing the Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management in 2022.

A country girl at heart and a mum to one, Lauren enjoys clay shooting, photography and anything that allows her to be creative, active and in the countryside with her dogs - who are part of our wellbeing team.

Zoe Bowles

Director

Zoe began working at 16 and has a varied background, from working in hospitality to the NHS, private health clubs and adult education. After this, she worked for her local council where as part of the customer service management team, she completed her BSI qualification in ISO 9001:2015. From here, Zoe has completed her NEBOSH General Certificate in 2021 and has since enrolled to complete the NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma in Occupational Safety.

Zoe can find home almost anywhere, but currently lives in the village of Cliffe with her husband and two children. Community minded, Zoe enjoys fundraising for her school PTA and her biggest achievement was pulling in over £10,000 from a single event where she hosted a 600 seater professional circus weekend.  Zoe is a school Governor and Treasurer for her local Scouts.

Elise Killick

Business Co-Ordinator

After her A-Levels, Elise began working in Health and Safety and Compliance. Whilst studying for her apprenticeship, she completed an integrated management system course for ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. On this course she learned how important it is to integrate these systems to create a cohesive approach to managing compliance.

Outside of work she enjoys watching the sunset with loved ones, as it is a reminder to embrace the beauty around us and to take a moment to reflect on the day. As she looks forward to the future, she is excited to apply what she has learned in her professional life, while continuing to enjoy every moment outside of it.

The Wellbeing Team

Frankie & Benny

Trainee Risk Assessors

Frankie and Benny joined us in November 2024 as our newest members of the compliance team.

These two tiny risk assessors (takers!) spend their days finding all of the risks around the home, from chewing through the Christmas tree lights in their first week of employment to rolling around on the desk (and falling off the edge) on a daily basis. They are keeping up appearances set by their predecessor, Rolo by joining a Teams call and helping us with client quality control.

The perfect fluffy distraction, except this time, it's double the trouble!

Max

Mental Health First Aider

What can we say about Max?

Now the most senior of the team, and certainly the most sensible, most of the time. He loves sleeping, a lot.

This boy has an incredible sense of when he is needed and can often be found sneaking under the desk and placing his head ever so gently in your lap, working those puppy dog eyes like a pro!

Max is renowned for breaking himself when he's had a hoolie on a walk, at which point we return the favour and become his emotional support humans.

Logan

Chief Happiness Officer

No longer the Chaotic House Pirahna, this labradorable chap has done a lot of growing up since he joined us.

His retrieval skills have proven to be his strength, particuarly when it involves socks and shoes. So, if you see Lauren in odd socks, Logan is probably the reason! He enjoys a song now and then, and is working on the refinement of his howl, mostly from the upstairs window to make sure everyone can hear him.

One of the client favourites in meetings, this boy loves nothing more than to imagine that he's still 6 months old and small enough to fit in your lap for snuggles all day long!

Oscar

Head of Security

Oscar was the latest canine addition to the Agar Bowles Wellbeing Team.

Oscar's career progression within the business hasn't quite gone to plan; after reviewing his competencies, it was clear that whilst he would be great in Logan's position and gives the most amazing cuddles, he has demonstrated far more strength in security, thus stepping in to Casper's role.

He continues to be a diligent and committed team player, and an utter hurricane of chaos on most days, but he is a hurricane that we certainly would not be without!
